Read the bloodborne and airborne pathogens book from the issue and teach the basics at the dinner table, handwashing and surface cleaning included. Cook the foil-packet meal while practicing safe food prep. Build a pocket pandemic kit, then gather everything for a home infection control kit in one place and rotate the bleach every six months. Practice putting on and taking off nitrile gloves the right way, using shaving cream as the stand-in for contaminated fluid. And check that you can make enough safe drinking water for the whole house, with the pots and fuel to sterilize tools in the field.
